Completed over two phases in 2021 and 2022, this downtown Toronto backyard was transformed into a tranquil yet highly functional retreat. Designed for relaxation, entertaining, and visual harmony, this outdoor space now effortlessly connects the charm of mature city homes with a modern landscape aesthetic.
Built around clean geometry and natural materiality, the yard features Techo Bloc Grande pavers accented with Kota Black limestone to create elegant movement and contrast throughout the space. The Thermory Ash deck and vertical board and batten-style fencing add warmth and texture, offering a durable, low-maintenance backdrop that brings the entire design together.
To delineate garden beds with a refined touch, powder-coated aluminum edging by American Iron Design was used, adding structure without overwhelming the softscape. A flowering Dogwood tree and a Japanese Maple anchor the planting scheme with seasonal colour and architectural interest, beautifully highlighted by a Moonstruck landscape lighting system that extends enjoyment into the evening hours.
